or is it poppin' & back firing???
curious... thinking about doing it to my C90 but every1 tells me that it will throw my timing way off....

Well I cant say for sure for the C90's but the C50 sounds great, its not rough sounding at idle... Plus I dont see how that would throw timing off anyway..... I've also read on other site from people who have done this, and I've read nothing but good reviews on C50's and C90's alike.... And it runs fantasic, no poppin on decel or anything....hope some of this helps you decide..good luck

Is your bike running lean at all. Or did you re: mapp your bike as well. What I'm wondering is will the fuel injection keep up with that change or NOT. Also your video did not come through do you have a site to go to.

Nope...bike runs just as good as ever. I even rode it back from sturgis to wisconsin with no problems at all. the baffles are actually small and even when their out, its not completely a straight through exaughst. As far as the site, it worked when i click on it.....otherwise you can try goin to
www.motorcycle-journal.com ....thats where I found the link...goodluck

I checked & da' video feed still works...
I talked 2 a local mech. and he said due to it being fuel injected it will automaticaly readjust...
I pounded in the little metal piece (have no idea what the H*LL it's called) inside the baffles and it turned up the volume pretty well... sounds nnnniiiiicccceeee

... might not twist out the baffles now...

Just did it to my bike. Sounds pretty good and runs fine. I was surprised at how easy it was. Start to finish, including a spin around the block and clean up, it took less than an hour. Thanks for the info.

I bought some stock pipes from an 01Vol to play with they sound great. I might kill mickey next....I have over 6,000 miles with the baffles out no problems at all.
The debaffleing that was done on the c50 will not work on the C90 because of the way that the baffles are made in the c90- they are not the same.- with more seperator chambers it is diffecult at best.

Having owned my C50 for two days now I'm not smart on the details of the Suzuki fuel injection, however most bikes don't have "smart" systems like in our cages which can truely change fuel patterns based on onboard sensor data. The two HDs I've owned with fuel injection do not have an air sensor in the intake, nor an oxygen sensor in the exhaust to allow it to adjust to many changes. This makes the amount of air allowed into the engine the most critical portion of the equation of fuel/air mixture.
The FI system squirts a set amount of fuel into the bike based on a "known" intake restriction and the programming sets the mixture for various throttle positions. When you increase the air flow (like with a high-flow performance air cleaner) you increase the amount of air however, the FI system is still squirting the same smaller amount of fuel required to run with the restricted stock air flow. This increased air flow with stock fuel metering results in a lean mixture. Lean mixtures burn hotter than normal and can do damage if run over an extended period of time.
The fix in the HD world is to increase the amount of fuel being squirted and return the fuel/air mixture back to normal. The ECM computer controls this "squirt" and you have to either download a "Stage 1" upgrade computer flash (done at the dealer) or install an aftermarket computer controller to modify the stock signals generated by the bike's stock computer.
Sorry for the long post, however now to the topic... From all my "other bike" experience, opening the exhaust restrictions will give you better sound and will change the backpressure the motor feels. This backpressure is needed to some extent to allow the motor to make it's HP & torque in desired RPM ranges. Some motors are more sensitive to changing the backpressure while others run just fine. For the most part exhaust mods alone (within reason) will not require a different computer "flash" or upgraded FI controller. However, to feel the full effect of increased HP & torque you will need open up both the intake and exhaust. Increasing the intake airflow will definately require a change to the computer's input of fuel to this now greater volume of air.
I believe K&N has an "increased flow" air cleaner for the C50 and Power Commander makes a computer controller for the C50. Decrease the airflow restrictions, both coming in and heading out of the motor and then tell the computer to match the fuel and HOLD ON!!
