Here's a new post for all of the mods that have been done to the SuperMoto. I'll start with something small:
The first thing I did after buying the bike was to dremel out that little restrictor plate in the back of the pipe. It opens it up a bit and definitely improves the sound.

Im new to this Suzuki Forum. I just traded my 09 KLX250s for an 09 Suzuki DRZ400sm. There is quite a difference between the two bikes. The Kaw was a great bike, very reliable, good looking, excellent on fuel, but a bit lacking in performance on the street for me taste. It was a street legal lightweight dirt bike, so Im not at all slamming the Kawaski, it did great for what it was designed to do. I guess my taste and wants have changed a bit in the short time I was riding the KAW. I only have about 30 miles on the Suzuki, but so far, it feels so so much stronger in the torque department. So thats it, my introduction for myself.

The mods I have already done to my 09 DRZ400sm are as follow: #1. Trimmed down the ugly long rear fender and did away with the stock license plate bracket, just used the one that is built into the plastic fender (drilled two holes to mount the plate). #2. Removed the ugly front reflectors from under the front fender. I trimmed the brackets under the fender so that they still provide support to the plastic fender. #3. Removed the spark arrestor and opened up the end-cap on my stock exhaust using my dremel tool. The next thing I will do is rejet the carb and do the 3"X3" air-box modification. I haven''t done it yet, but will do it within the next month or so, when I get around to ordering the jet kit. I usually do stuff to the bike when I''m bored.
