I have a 2005 M50 in Phoenix.  There are several places online offering a "Fan Switch Upgrade" which claims to adjust the radiator kick-in down from 91 degrees to 80 degrees to make the bike run cooler and not lose horsepower from the heat.

Anyone know if this is crap or not?

Not a clue, but I was riding my 05 m50 satrurday for 5 hours in 96 deg weather with no problems.  I've got 4200 miles on it.

I would like to know more on how this switch works. Not just where it bring the fan on, but at what temp it cuts off. Seems to me a switch like this would cycle the fan more, reducing it''s life. The bike''s seem to run great at the 90 degree cut-in, so why risk killing the fan?
